Coaching that changes how you lead

Senior leaders face decisions no training manual covers. We work one-to-one with executives to sharpen judgment, strengthen presence, and produce outcomes their boards can measure in quarters, not years.

Built for leaders who already know the basics

Most of our clients have been managing teams for a decade or more. They don't need another leadership framework. What they need is a thinking partner who will ask hard questions, challenge assumptions, and hold them accountable to the changes they say they want to make.

Exec Strategy Consult was founded on a simple observation: the higher you climb, the fewer honest conversations you get. Your direct reports filter what they tell you. Your peers compete with you. Your board wants results, not vulnerability.

We fill that gap. Our coaches have held C-suite and VP-level positions themselves, across financial services, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing. They understand the pressures because they have lived them. That shared experience means sessions move faster. There is less explaining, more doing.

How we help

Each engagement starts with a diagnostic conversation. From there, we design a programme around your specific situation, not a template.

One-to-one executive coaching

Fortnightly 90-minute sessions over six to twelve months. Between sessions, you work on concrete experiments we design together. We track progress against goals you set in the first meeting, and we review them every eight weeks.

Leadership team alignment

When an executive team talks past each other, the whole organisation feels it. We facilitate structured conversations that surface hidden disagreements, clarify decision rights, and rebuild trust. Typical engagements run four to six months with monthly half-day workshops.

Transition coaching

The first 90 days in a new role determine whether a leader succeeds or stalls. We provide intensive weekly coaching during transitions: new CEO appointments, cross-functional moves, post-merger integrations. The goal is faster credibility and fewer early missteps.

Strategic thinking intensives

A two-day offsite for leaders who need to step out of daily operations and think clearly about what comes next. We use scenario planning, pre-mortem analysis, and structured debate. You leave with a written strategic intent document and three priority bets for the next quarter.

Stakeholder communication coaching

Board presentations, investor calls, all-hands meetings. We rehearse high-stakes communications with video review, feedback on presence and clarity, and message refinement. Sessions are typically two hours, scheduled the week before the event.

360-degree feedback and debrief

We gather confidential feedback from your peers, direct reports, and manager using validated instruments. Then we spend a full morning reviewing the data together, identifying two or three patterns worth acting on, and building a development plan you can start the same week.

How an engagement works

No two coaching programmes look identical, but they all follow a similar arc.

1

Discovery call

A 30-minute conversation where we learn about your role, your challenges, and what success would look like. No charge, no obligation. If we are not the right fit, we will say so and point you elsewhere.

2

Diagnostic phase

We conduct interviews with key stakeholders (with your permission), review any existing feedback data, and map the organisational context. This takes about two weeks and produces a written summary of themes we will work on.

3

Coaching sessions begin

Regular sessions, usually fortnightly, either in person or by video. Each session ends with a specific commitment: something you will try, stop, or change before we meet again.

4

Mid-point review

Halfway through the engagement, we check progress against your original goals. We adjust the plan if priorities have shifted. This review often includes a brief pulse check with your stakeholders.

5

Wrap-up and sustainability

In the final sessions, we consolidate what you have learned, document your personal leadership playbook, and plan how you will maintain momentum without a coach in the room.

What clients say

★★★★★
"I came in thinking I needed help with time management. Within three sessions, we uncovered that the real issue was how I delegated. My team is now running two product launches without me in every meeting."

★★★★★
"The 360 feedback process was uncomfortable but incredibly useful. My coach helped me read the data without getting defensive, and we turned it into a plan I actually followed. Six months later, my engagement scores went up 18 points."

★★★★★
"I was promoted to CEO during a restructuring. The transition coaching gave me a structured way to build relationships with the board and the senior team in my first 90 days. I would not have managed that pace without it."

Frequently asked questions

Most programmes run between six and twelve months. Transition coaching is shorter, usually three to four months. We agree on the timeline during the diagnostic phase, and we can extend or shorten based on progress.
Both. Many clients prefer video calls for regular sessions and in-person meetings for the diagnostic, mid-point review, and wrap-up. We are based in England and happy to travel within the UK for on-site work.
Pricing depends on the scope: number of sessions, whether we include 360 feedback, and whether the engagement covers one leader or a team. We provide a detailed proposal after the discovery call. Most individual coaching programmes fall between £8,000 and £25,000.
Yes. What you share in coaching stays in coaching. If your organisation is sponsoring the engagement, we agree upfront on what (if anything) gets reported back, usually limited to broad themes and progress against goals, never specific conversations.
Coaching works best when you are willing to be honest about what is and is not working, and when you are ready to experiment with new behaviours. If you are looking for someone to validate your existing approach without challenge, we are probably not the right fit.
